Learn how to use artificial light to create clean and bright headshots

About the event

Join Rebecca McMillan for a pop-up demonstration of how she sets up her headshot station, using portable lights, a pop-up backdrop, and a Sony mirrorless camera.

You'll have the opportunity to be photographed by Rebecca, coming away with at least one professional headshot, as well as having the chance to try out the lights as well.

This workshop is supported by the Wairarapa Camera Club and Sony Scene. You don't have to be a camera club member or a Sony shooter to attend this workshop.

Rebecca McMillan is a Wellington-based portrait photographer, accredited NZIPP member, and a Sony Digital Imaging Advocate.

Techniques covered

Lighting setups for headshots including the use of bounce/reflectors
Camera settings for well-exposed portraits
Portrait composition and directing your subject

What to bring

Dress smartly for your photograph
Notepad and pen
Drink bottle

Is there any parking available?

Yes there's plenty of parking at Visual Industrie and on State Highway 2.

What is included in this package?

Live demonstration of lighting for headshots and the chance to have your own headshot captured.

Is there a minimum number of attendees required for this event to go ahead? If so, what is the cutoff date?

A minimum of five attendees is required for this workshop. The workshop will be confirmed on the Friday prior.

Can minors (under 18) register for this event if accompanied by a responsible adult who also books their own ticket?
