Join me for a photowalk in the bush

About the event

Keen for an excuse to get your camera out and explore? Join us for a relaxed stroll through the bush on Sunday afternoon this King's Birthday weekend.

This time we'll do a macro nature challenge i.e. every registered attendee will be given a subject to focus on throughout the photowalk. Think insects, flora, and fungi. Final favourite captures will be shared in a collaboration post on Instagram after the event.

Meet other photographers, see how they approach a scene, or just enjoy their company while you practice getting to know your camera better.

Our location for this photowalk will be Wellington's Otari-Wilton Bush, starting at the main carpark on Wilton Road.

Techniques covered

  • Working with the gear you have
  • Exposing for natural and available light
  • How to approach a scene

What to bring

  • Your camera of choice
  • A macro lens if you have one - don't worry if you don't!
  • Good walking shoes
  • Warm layers for the Wellington weather conditions
