About the event

On the Water with Craig Parry — Humpback Photography Experience

Spend a morning at sea with Sony Imaging Ambassador Craig Parry, photographing one of the great spectacles of the Australian coast: the humpback whale migration.

In partnership with Out of the Blue tours, this is a small-group experience strictly limited to twenty photographers. We cast off at 7:30 am for a extended trip — early enough to meet the whales in the soft, low light of first morning, when the sea is at its most photogenic — and head north along the coast toward Byron Bay, into the heart of the migration route.

You'll shoot alongside Craig as he works the water, sharing the way he reads light, anticipates a breach, and turns a fleeting moment into a frame worth keeping. With support from Sony on board, you'll also have the latest camera gear on hand to try — a rare chance to put professional equipment to work in the field, with the photographer who shoots it every day right beside you.
