Whale watching

A morning on a private boat photographing Whales

About the event

Whales and wild life! Join Sony advocate Matt Gilligan on this action-packed photo workshop. The subject: Whales! We will be on a private boat for 1.5 hours where we will set out to catch some captivating images of these beautiful creatures in their natural home.

This workshop will be purely based around wildlife and getting the best images possible.

Before you embark out on the boat there will be an on-land half-an-hour information session to ensure you are ready to get the best shot possible, this will include the correct shutter speed, aperture and ISO settings, coupled along with the best focus modes to use and focus areas.

Some things to note

  • If you are prone to motion sickness it would be wise to take some motion sickness tablets before we embark.
  • Weather - Being on the mid north coast, we are prone to all sorts of weather problems. If the conditions aren't optimal or are unsafe this event will be rescheduled to the next available weekend where conditions are optimal and a boat is available.
