Whales and Seascapes - 2026

Taking place over the October Long Weekend  2026 we invite you on an adventure of epic proportions as we immerse ourselves into the world of mischievous and cheeky Humpback Whales supported by multiple iconic Seascape Shoots.

$2450 per person with a $500 deposit to secure a place. Pay your deposit through Sony Scene and the balance 90 days prior to the adventure.

Non-photography partners welcome at $1150 per person which includes 1 whale cruise.

During the months of Sept- Nov there is a  100% Whale Sighting Guarantee on our tour boat as Humpback mothers bring their energetic and playful calves back down Australia’s East Coast heading for Antarctica.

Having been born in the warmer tropical waters of Hervey Bay or Tonga  by the time they reach Bermagui on their Southern Migration the mischievous calves are old enough to leave their mothers and be curious about the world around them.

At this time of year you see a lot of  'naughty children having fun' behaviour as the babies are taught pec slapping and tail slamming and breaching behaviour by their adults. They are extremely curious and love to come close to the boats for a 'mugging' often needing to be called away by their more chilled mothers - this is where you would need a mid wide angle lens or your iphone - IF you are able to concentrate in the magic of these moments. :-) . 

Itinerary   2nd to 6th October  2026

Day 1 - Arrive in Bermagui in the afternoon or early evening.  Sunset Whale Cruise. Dinner Bermagui pub.

Day 2 - Sunrise shoot Camel Rock . Bermagui Breakfast. Morning Whale watching cruise. Droning from the headland or post processing workshop. Sunset Cuttagee beach

Day 3. Sunrise at Glasshouse Rocks with breakfast at Narooma. Drone photography or post processing workshop . Dinner followed by Astrophotography.

Day 4. Sunrise shoot Bermagui Headland. Morning Whale watching cruise. Droning from the headland and  Post processing whale photography session. Sunset Horsehead Rock.

Day 5. Sunrise Shoot at Blue Pools followed by breakfast. Pack up and depart.

*Our itineraries are flexible and subject to weather and tides. We never run out of beautiful options to photograph and our days are full.*

Location

Staying centrally located on the headland at Bermagui your comfortable (share or single ) accomodation has ocean views , a 5 minute walk to great coffee and 10 min walk to the Bermagui marina. Partners will be sharing a room, singles will have their own room in a share cabin.

We will be co-ordinating the shoots with plenty of recovery time and will either fill your day or give you some space to just savour this incredibly beautiful location. 

If you have a drone we recommend you bring it as the headland  is 100 steps from your door and  is excellent for on land whale and seal and dolphin watching. It is possible to bring a chair and your morning coffee and just sit and  watch pods of dolphins  and hunting sea eagles cruise by before we even head out to start our day.

Beginners or Experts - We will be concentrating on helping you build the skills neccesary for taking excellent wildlife and landscape shots and discussion will be around how to maximise your abilities to produce photos you are proud of.  This is an Iphone friendly workshop if thats all you prefer to use, we dont discriminate!

 Come join us during post processing time to deconstruct and discuss the photos you have taken. We guarantee you  will come home from this long weekend with many 'Aha' moments.

Highlights •

A minimum of 3 whale watching cruises  ( 1 for non photography partners ). There may be opportunity to book yourself onto extra consecutive cruises if you wish which our previous guests have done.

• Camera settings for wildlife.

•  Camera settings for landscapes including composition and use of light.
