About the World Press Photo Exhibition
The World Press Photo Exhibition 2025 presents the year’s most important photojournalism and documentary photography, selected by an independent jury from 59,320 entries by 3,778 photographers across 141 countries.
These powerful images go beyond the daily news cycle, inviting visitors to reflect on pressing issues such as migration, climate change, war, protest, conflict, family, animals, and sport.
This year, 42 winners from 31 countries bring local and global stories to light—highlighting photography’s role in deepening understanding, promoting dialogue, and inspiring action.
2025 marks the 70th anniversary of World Press Photo. What began in 1955 with Dutch photographers has grown into a global platform reaching millions through exhibitions, contests, and education.
