About the event
Twilight photography – Victoria Square's iconic Christmas tree and this year's "Adelady and Gathered" Christmas Market. Sunset will be 8:27pm.
Photography doesn't have to stop when the sun goes down, especially with the power of your Sony Alpha camera. Twilight is one of the best times to take exciting photos. Come along and learn tips and tricks for dealing with the bright lights.
We will start at 6:30pm (or a little earlier) for dinner and a chat inside the nearby Chinatown Plaza food court (see photo). Phone Colin on 0408 426 546 if you're late or lost.
Then about 7pm wander down Grote Street to the magical evening of activities and stalls at the market next to the ever-changing lights of the Christmas tree in Victoria Square (Tarntanyangga).
Colin will give tips to help capture this colourful event. You may like to bring a tripod, but beware we don't want them to become tripping hazards. The Optical Steady Shot (OSS) in many Sony lenses and/or the In Body Image Stabilization (IBIS) of most recent Sony cameras may reduce the need for a tripod by allowing hand holding at slower shutter speeds (within limits). This may give interesting effects when people walk through your scene.
Techniques covered

What to bring
