About the event

Come and join the friendly, welcoming people in the Sony Alpha Adelaide group for coffee or a bite to eat in the Myer food court.

Adelaide's Sony Digital Imaging Advocate, Colin J. Pearce, will give a short talk on settings for your Sony Alpha camera, followed by a walk taking photos of Adelaide's spectacular lights. If you like, try your hand at low light street photography, especially if you have a fast (wide aperture) lens, such as f/1.4 or f/1.8.

Techniques covered

  • Exposure settings
  • Use of self-timer and tripod
  • Use of Optical SteadyShot and In Body Image Stabilisation

What to bring

  • Tripod
  • Sony Alpha camera (wide angle lens may be a good option, but even a telephoto could result in unusual photos)
  • Warm clothing (maybe gloves)
