We're lucky in Australia to have one of the best places in the world to be able to see the Milky Way, and this is the ideal time of year. With modern Sony Alpha cameras we have incredibly powerful tools to capture the stars, which was impossible for normal photographers just a few short years ago.
Adelaide's Sony Digital Imaging Advocate, Colin J. Pearce, takes you through various Sony camera settings, tricks and inspiration.
This can also help prepare you for the field trip next weekend (one night, depending on weather forecast, on 19th, 20th or 21st June) to the dark skies just off the South-East Freeway at a special location Colin has arranged south of Callington, at Salem.
