Chase the Milky Way Across the Blue Mountains by 4WD

About the event

Join your photo guide Jay for a unique small-group astrophotography adventure exploring some of the most spectacular nightscape locations across the Blue Mountains and beyond.

Unlike a traditional Astromeet based at a single location, this experience is designed as a true astro expedition — travelling by 4WD through the mountains to a handpicked selection of lookout points, escarpments, forests, valleys, and hidden astro locations across Katoomba, Wentworth Falls, Blackheath, Lithgow, and beyond.

Timed during peak Milky Way season, this immersive overnight experience combines adventure, creativity, and hands-on learning as we chase changing night sky and compositions throughout the night. From dramatic valleys and waterfalls overlooking the Jamison Valley to remote pagoda country and mountain silhouettes beneath the stars, every stop offers a different perspective of the Blue Mountains World Heritage Area after dark.

With only 3 participants, this is one of the most personalised and flexible astro experiences we offer — giving you the opportunity to learn, shoot, ask questions, and refine your night photography alongside a professional guide in real-world conditions.
