Sony Alpha 7 V Workshops
Chasing the Milky Way rising over Bouddi's rugged coastline with the a7V

About the event

Featuring hands-on shooting with the new Sony a7 V

Join Sony Digital Imaging Advocate Jay Evans for a special coastal Astromeet along the dramatic shoreline of Bouddi National Park, timed to align with one of the most visually compelling nights of the astro season.

This Astromeet offers the rare opportunity to photograph the Milky Way rising alongside a crescent moon, casting soft natural light across sandstone cliffs, rock platforms, and secluded beaches. The combination of moonlight, early-season Milky Way alignment, and Bouddi’s east-facing coastline creates ideal conditions for powerful nightscape imagery.

Throughout the night, we’ll move carefully along the coastal track, refining compositions as conditions evolve — from moonlit blue hour through to full darkness — while also giving participants the chance to shoot with and experience the new Sony a7 V in real coastal night conditions.

This Astromeet is about immersion, creativity, and purposeful shooting in one of NSW’s most photogenic coastal environments.
