Watch mountain photos edited live, sharing real-time workflows and tricks

About the event

Join Luke Tscharke for a free, interactive online editing session focused on mountain photography. This hour-long Zoom session offers a behind-the-scenes look at my editing process as I work on previously unseen photos of mountains from Tasmania and Antarctica, showing you how to handle atmospheric conditions, scale, and composition in mountain landscapes.

This is not a structured tutorial, but rather a live, freestyle editing session. I'll be working with images in real-time, making decisions on the spot. We'll cover techniques like managing atmospheric haze, balancing exposure across dramatic scenes, and working with changing light on mountain peaks, giving you insight into a genuine editing workflow.

The session is designed to be casual, friendly, and relaxed. You're welcome to simply watch and listen, or actively participate by asking questions throughout the edit. Even if you don't photograph mountains yourself, it's still worth tuning in to learn about managing light and atmosphere in landscape photography. You can always apply these techniques to other images. At the end of the session, we'll have a brief Q&A to address any additional queries.

I'll be demonstrating my workflow using various tools, including Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, as well as discussing techniques for managing contrast and clarity in mountain scenes. You'll see how I handle the unique challenges of mountain photography, from dealing with atmospheric haze to maintaining detail in both shadowed valleys and bright peaks. While some familiarity with photo editing software would be beneficial, all skill levels are welcome to join and learn.

This session is open to all photographers, regardless of the camera brand you use. Whether you're new to editing or looking to refine your skills with mountain landscapes, you'll have the opportunity to pick up tips and techniques that you can apply to your own workflow.
