A guided Photography Hike through the Epic heart of the Blue Mountains

About the event

Two Days. Endless Views. A Photographic Journey Across the Blue Mountains Escarpment.

Join Photography Adventure Guide Jay Evans for a guided photographic journey through the heart of the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains.

Combining hiking, photography, and nature interpretation, these adventures explore some of the most spectacular sections of the Grand Cliff Top Walk, traversing dramatic escarpments, waterfalls, ancient forests, and breathtaking valley vistas.

Along the way you'll photograph iconic landscapes, native flora and fauna, and ever-changing mountain light while learning practical field techniques for landscape photography, composition, and visual storytelling.

Led by an experienced wilderness guide and photographer, this is more than a photo walk—it's an opportunity to immerse yourself in one of Australia's most remarkable natural environments and experience the Blue Mountains from a deeper perspective.

Book each day separately, so join us for one day or both.

Day 1 - Echo Point to Gordon Falls - Sunrise, Waterfalls & Escarpment Views Across the Jamison Valley

The first stage of our Grand Cliff Top Walk Photo Adventure as we journey from the iconic Echo Point through some of the most spectacular sections of the Blue Mountains escarpment before finishing beyond Leura Cascades at the iconic views from Gordon Falls.

Beginning at sunrise overlooking the Three Sisters and Jamison Valley, we'll photograph the first light illuminating the cliffs before setting off along the Grand Cliff Top Walk. Throughout the day we'll explore waterfalls, forested sections, hanging swamps, lookouts, and hidden viewpoints while discussing landscape photography, composition, storytelling, and working with changing mountain conditions.

This is a genuine hiking adventure designed for photographers who enjoy exploring on foot while creating meaningful images along the way.

  • Uneven tracks and rocky terrain

🌦 Weather & Conditions

This adventure will proceed in most weather conditions.

Cloud, mist, and changing mountain weather often create some of the most rewarding photographic opportunities.

Severe weather conditions, heavy rain, fire danger, or National Park closures may result in cancellation or rescheduling.

🚧 Track Closures & Diversions

The Grand Cliff Top Walk is currently undergoing a number of ongoing maintenance and upgrade projects by NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and Blue Mountains City Council.

As a result, some sections of the track, lookouts, staircases, or connecting pathways may be temporarily closed during the event period.

Where closures exist, alternative routes and approved diversions will be used to ensure the safety of participants while maintaining the overall experience and photographic opportunities of the adventure.

Please note:

  • 🚶 Route adjustments may be required at short notice
  • 🛠️ Temporary track closures can occur without warning
  • 📍 Exact walking distances may vary slightly depending on active works
  • 📸 Alternative viewpoints and photographic locations may be substituted where necessary
  • ✅ All route decisions will prioritise participant safety and compliance with National Parks and Council requirements

These changes are a normal part of managing and protecting the Blue Mountains walking track network and help ensure these spectacular locations remain accessible for future generations to enjoy.
