About the event
Join Sony Digital Imaging Advocate Jay Evans on this Head-On photo festival Night city walk.
We will commence our walk at Circular Quay railway station and Cahill Expressway capturing the sunset and last light as darkness falls across the city, and then turn our attentions to the Nightscapes of Circular Quay, The Rocks, Observatory Hill, Barangaroo and Darling Harbour before concluding our evening in Pyrmont.
As we walk, we will focus on the techniques we use to capture night time cityscapes, working out the settings to use, the techniques for focusing in the dark, long exposure techniques to capture lights in motion and using lens effects to capture unique pin point city lights. We may even get creative with some light painting.
Be sure to bring warm layered clothing as temperatures will drop after sunset, and wear sturdy footwear, as we will walk for roughly 3-4kms around the edges of the Sydney Harbour foreshore. There will be a number of stairs to negotiate as we traverse Circular Quay, The Harbour Bridge, the Rocks and Darling Harbour.
Meeting Point: City Extra restaurant outside Circular Quay Railway Station
