About the event

Escape the weekend to explore and photograph the magical Far North of New Zealand, an area rich in photographic variety from lush waterfalls, glow worm caves and some of NZ's most beautiful beaches during golden hour and under the night sky.

Locations covered during the weekend include: Whangarei Falls, Piroa Falls, Waipu Caves, beaches along the Tutukaka coast such as Matapouri, Ocean Beach and Pataua, Rainbow Falls and Mt Manaia.

Friday 12pm

Anyone travelling from Auckland will meet me at a central location for pick up, otherwise we will meet at the accommodation in Whangarei at 2pm. We will then head out for sunset and astro if the skies are clear.

Saturday

Sunrise will be at Whangarei Falls to experience this magical location during its most peaceful time of day. From here we will explore other local waterfalls and caves before returning to the accommodation for an indepth session of editing your images captured so far in Lightroom learning new techniques. Later in the afternoon we will head out for sunrise and astro at a local beach or waterfall.

Sunday
