Master PhotoPills and planning apps for location research and timing

About the event

Join Luke Tscharke for an online workshop focused on location and timing planning for photography. This workshop explores the tools and processes for scouting locations, understanding optimal timing, and positioning yourself in the right place at the right time for the shots you're after.

This workshop dives into PhotoPills and other essential planning apps that help us understand timing elements like sunrise and sunset positions, moon phases, Milky Way visibility, and seasonal changes. You'll see practical examples and the workflows I've developed for location research and timing planning.

This workshop focuses specifically on the location and timing aspects of planning, helping you understand when and where to position yourself for optimal light and composition opportunities. For comprehensive planning coverage, this pairs perfectly with my weather planning workshop which covers atmospheric conditions and environmental factors.

What We'll Cover

The workshop walks through PhotoPills and other planning apps, showing how they're used for location scouting and timing decisions. You'll explore practical techniques for researching shooting locations, understanding sun and moon positioning, planning for astrophotography timing, and coordinating all these elements for successful shoots.

As part of this workshop, you'll receive a planning workflow guide in PDF format. This  guide covers all the key tools and processes we discuss during the workshop, giving you a reference document to use when planning your own shoots.
