About the event
Join Luke Tscharke for an interactive low light photography editing session, designed especially for those who've explored the darker side of photography through my creative light painting workshops or Hobart Dark Photo Walks. This 90-minute Zoom session offers a hands-on look at my editing process as I work through challenging low light images in real-time.
This isn't a structured tutorial, but rather a live, collaborative editing session where I'll be working with real images and making decisions on the spot. You're welcome to watch and listen, or actively participate by asking questions throughout. I'll also work through some of your submitted images, providing personalised feedback and demonstrating editing approaches tailored to your captures.
Even if you haven't attended my previous workshops, you're absolutely welcome to join us. The techniques we'll cover apply to any challenging low light situation, from cityscapes to nighttime landscapes.
Session Format
I'll demonstrate my workflow using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, with a focus on practical techniques you can apply immediately. We'll work through real-world challenges like managing noise, handling mixed lighting, and getting the best results from difficult exposures.
I'll also touch on specialist noise reduction tools like DxO Pure Raw and the NIK collection. While these aren't essential to follow along, they can be incredibly helpful for pushing your low light images further. If you're interested in exploring these tools after the session, I'm happy to share some discount information.
You can submit an image for potential review during the session using a Dropbox link I'll send after registration. Submit with your name for credit, or anonymously if you prefer.
