Sony Sunrise Photowalk – Great River Walk, Penrith & Emu Plains

About the event

📸 Join Sony Digital Imaging Advocate Jay Evans for an immersive photowalk along the Great River Walk, capturing the beauty of the Nepean River and its lively surroundings.

Nestled at the foothills of the Blue Mountains, this seldom explored area around Penrith and Emu Plains with scenic riverside location offers a diverse range of photographic opportunities. From bird and wildlife photography featuring Superb Fairy Wrens and Eastern Water Dragons, to landscape compositions showcasing the misty morning light over the river, and street-style photography with runners, rowers, cyclists, and dog walkers—there’s something for every Sony photographer.

What to Expect

🌅 Golden Hour & Sunrise Shots – Capture the first light as it dances across the riverbanks and the Yandhi Nepean Bridge.
🐦 Wildlife & Landscape Photography – Explore unique compositions with birds, reptiles, and flood-felled trees and the bubbling waters of the river.
🏃 Street & People Photography – Document the morning energy with rowers, runners, cyclists and dog walkers.
Post-Walk Camera Chat & Breakfast – We’ll conclude at a local cafe (Laughing Boy or Emu Hall) for a relaxed discussion on camera settings, techniques, and optimizing your Sony gear.
