Looking to meet new photographers, make some connections and get out shooting with people you haven't met before?
Photographer Roulette is your opportunity for that.
You'll be paired with a photographer, head out and shoot together for 20 minutes, then come back to base and be paired with someone completely different for the next round. Repeat this for 4 Rounds.
It's about making new connections, photographing with different people and enjoying a night out with other photographers.
Across four rounds, you'll have the opportunity to meet and shoot alongside four different photographers, with each round giving you a new person to explore the area with.
The focus of this event is simply on meeting people.
This event is designed around socialising and meeting other photographers, so please come prepared to introduce yourself, chat and photograph alongside people you may not have met before.
If you're looking for a quiet solo photo walk, this probably isn't the event for you.
Event Structure
6:30 PM — Meet & briefing
7:00 PM - 8.30PM Photography Rounds 1,2,3,4 Start.
9:00 PM — Finish
Each round involves being paired with a new photographer to shoot with.
Each pair will receive a card containing four photography prompts, with one prompt available for each round.
The prompts are optional — use them for inspiration or simply photograph whatever catches your eye on the night
We'll be based around Silo Park and Wynyard Quarter, giving you plenty of different environments to explore and photograph together.

We'll have a central meeting point that everyone returns to between rounds, while each pair has freedom to explore within the designated area.
Everyone who registers for the event and attends on the day will automatically go into the draw to win an all-expenses-paid trip to Japan as part of Sony Scene Fest! 🇯🇵📸
Places are strictly limited to 20 photographers, so please only sign up if you're confident you'll be able to attend.
Because the event relies on rotating partners, no-shows can make the pairing system difficult for everyone else.
If your plans change after registering, please let me know as soon as possible so I can adjust the pairings.
