The phone apps I use to be in the right place when the light happens

About the event

Join me for a free online talk on the phone apps I use to plan my landscape and astro shoots. Before most shoots I go through a few apps to work out where to be, when to be there and what the sky will be doing.

Most of my planning is sky alignment: where the sun and moon rise and set, moon phases, and where and when the Milky Way and the stars line up over a location. I'll show you the apps I use for this and how I work with them. I'll also cover tides and aurora alerts, and how they change where I go and when. Weather isn't part of this talk. I'll cover it in a separate session.

I'll show how a plan comes together, from checking where the moon will rise against a location to working out when the Milky Way will line up over it, with images from shoots where it worked.

The session is casual and relaxed. You're welcome to just watch and listen, or ask questions as we go. The apps work with any camera, so everyone's welcome, whatever brand you shoot with. We'll finish with a Q&A, so bring questions about your own locations.
