Running of the Horses

Photograph a herd of horse running across a creek in the misty dawn.

About the event

Just 54 mins from Sydney CBD  or 30 mins from Hornsby is a magic little valley full of horses.

We will be met at 05.30 ( or, you can camp overnight on the property ) and be met by a rider on horseback who will escort us across the paddock to the creek crossing.

Prior to our private shoot we will discuss the best settings to use for lighting and speed and lens choice.

From 0600 a herd of horses will gallop across the creek bed a number of times for us - in between each crossing we have a chance to change our position to best capture your photos. You can stand on the sand creek edge or even in the water if you wish. Bring gumboots!  After the herd has moved on one or two riders will provide us with some action shots at speed - they always have fun!

As a bonus, Sony will provide us a choice of their latest camera and lenses for you to try during the shoot at no cost. Leave your drivers liscence with us and be prepared to share if required.

At conclusion we will retreat to the resort balcony overlooking the valley for an inclusive bacon and egg roll brekky withe coffee and tea.

If you want to download your photos onto a laptop after brekky and need some editing help Robin and her partner Timothy will be happy to assist you to get the best out of your shots.
