About the event
Join Award Winning photographer Robin Moon for 3 full days of adventure over 3 salt lakes located in the Mallee District of North West Victoria.
This is a photographic adventure designed by photographers for photographers and will include Timothy Moon and Karan Varshnei as our photographic co-mentors for aerial and astrophotography.
The Itinerary
27th - 31st March 2020
Arrival - Friday 27th
Arrive on the afternoon or evening of Friday 27th March where we'll meet at the SkyMirror Gallery in the main street of Sealake from 3pm. After this we'll have an orientation and sunset shoot on Lake Tyrell followed by dinner at The Royal Hotel.
Day 1 – Saturday 28th
Begin the day with a sunrise shoot at Lake Tyrell and then return to Sealake for breakfast. In the morning we'll have an introduction to drone photography workshop, followed by drone flights over Lake Tyrrell. The afternoon will be a session looking at post-processing and an Abstract Aerial Landscape Composition workshop. We'll finish the day with sunset on Lake Tyrrell followed by a BBQ Dinner and an astrophotography session and Painted Silos.
Day 2 – Sunday 29th
Take advantage of the photo-review session from the day before to get another morning of sunrise photography at Lake Tyrrell returning to Sealake for Breakfast. We'll follow this straight into drone flights over Lake Wahpool. Spend the afternoon with another post-processing session. The evening will lead into a sunset session on Lake Tyrrell followed by a BBQ Dinner and an astrophotography session on Lake Tyrrell with Karan Varshnei
Day 3 - Monday 30th
Continue to perfect your technique or experiment with new ideas during the sunrise shoot at Lake Tyrrell returning to Sealake for Breakfast. Move straight into drone photography over Lake Timboram and Lake Tyrrell. Again, we'll take the afternoon to review and post-process our images. The evening will be another sunset session on Lake Tyrrell followed by Dinner at The Royal Hotel.
Departure - Tuesday 31st
Our final morning will be the last opportunity to get your best techniques for a sunrise shoot at Lake Tyrrell, then return to Sealake for Breakfast. After this we'll wrap up and check-out of our accommodation.

What’s Not Included
- Transport to and from Sealake. For those travelling from Sydney there may be the opportunity to share cars. We usually stay overnight in Narrandera to break up the drive. Narrandera has a great dark sky for Astrophotography.

What to Expect
- Unlike larger tours you will be apart of a smaller group with plenty of one-on-one time to discuss composition, camera settings and your love of landscape photography.
- The longest drive is around an hour, so you will have time to sit and absorb the landscape without the need to rush to the next location.
- The itinerary is a guide, and we may change locations based on weather and changing opportunities.
- We aim to get you to the right place at the right time. It doesn’t matter if you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, everyone is welcome.
- Enjoy building your knowledge and sharing a passion for image making.

- A remote control for your camera to reduce shutter shake
- Nisi ND 6 filter for sunrise / sunset and Night Filter for the Silo shot, otherwise adjust in post processing.
- For sunrise, sunset and astrophotography: plastic bags to protect tripod feet in the salty water. 12-24mm for wide landscapes and 12mm f/2.8 for astrophotography 70-200mm for details and wildlife
