4 days / 4 nights Photography Workshop

About the event

Join Award winning Landscape photographer Robin Moon for a 5 day adventure on 3 salt lakes located in the Mallee District of North West Victoria.

  • We will explore  different locations along Lake Tyrell , Lake Wahpool , Lake Timboram capturing sunrise and sunset mirror reflections. 
  • Aerial Abstract landscapes by drone
  • Evening Astrophotography.

Day 1  -

  • Arrive in the afternoon or evening.
  • Meet at the Sky Mirror Gallery in the main street of SeaLake from 3pm
  • An orientation and sunset shoot on Lake Tyrell will be available with dinner afterwards at the Sea Lake hotel

Day 2 -

  • Sunrise shoot Lake Tyrell returning to SeaLake for breakfast
  • An introduction to droning workshop followed by drone flights over Lake Tyrell.
  • Afternoon post processing and Abstract Aerial Landscape Composition Workshop
  • Sunset on Lake Tyrell followed by dinner - either self cater or local hotel
  • Astrophotography and Painted Silos

Day 3  - 

  • Sunrise shoot Lake Tyrell returning to Sealake for breakfast
  • Drone flights over Lake Wahpool
  • Afternoon post processing
  • Sunset on Lake Tyrell followed by dinner - either self cater or local hotel
  • Astrophotography on Lake Tyrell

Day 4 -

  • Sunrise shoot Lake Tyrell returning to Sea Lake for Breakfast
  • Drone flights over Lake Timboram and Lake Tyrell
  • Afternoon post processing
  • Sunset on Lake Tyrell followed by Dinner at The Royal Hotel

Day 5 -

  • Sunrise shoot on Lake Tyrell returning to Sea Lake for breakfast
  • Workshop Wrap up and check out of Accommodation

What to Expect

  • Unlike larger tours you will be part of a smaller group with plenty of time for one on one time to discuss composition, camera settings and your love of landscape photography.
  • The longest drive is around an hour, so you will have time to absorb the landscape without the need to rush to the next location.
  • The itinerary is a guide and we may change locations and timings dependent upon weather and external influences.
  • Random stops for birdlife.
  • We aim to get you to the right place at the right time. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or seasoned professional, everyone is welcome. Enjoy building your knowledge and sharing a passion for image making. 
A $500 deposit is required to SonyScene to secure your spot. The remaining balance minus the deposit will be paid directly to Wanderlust Imagery. Final payment is required by 29th April 2021.

What to bring

  • Camera. Whatever you have. We can also help with iphone photography
  • Remote control
  • Filters - a ND6 for sunrise sunset 
  • Tripod
  • Lenses. 14-24mm for wide landscapes and 12mm 2.8 -4mm for astrophotography. Zoom lens for birdlife
  • Drone.  Spare batteries and or in car charger
  • Head torch
  • Laptop with Photoshop or Lightroom
  • A Passion for image making

Yes indeed. we aim to please. We also have a handful of drones for you to try.
Breakfast is included. For Lunch and dinner we give you the option of purchasing a delicious meal locally or self catering at your self contained accomodation.
The lakes can be quite muddy. Gumboots are a sensible option. A fly hat and insect repellant is highly recommended.
Share accomodation for 4 nights in SkyMirror guest house, or SkyMirror Cottage in Sea Lake. Breakfast 4WD transport to shoots Tuition with Robin Moon and Timothy Moon
Travel insurance is recommended in this time of Covid. Should the event not proceed due to Travel restrictions - a 100% refund will be provided.
Robin is a registered nurse. Covid safe practises have always been part of her work life , so she understands how to make everyone feel safe whilst participating. We will follow measures current for Australian Health guidelines.
