About the event
Join Luke Tscharke, Sony Australia, Sony Advocate Eric Peng, and Camera House Launceston for an immersive night photography workshop. Our event consists of two parts: a theoretical session at the Sony Homestead followed by a practical session at Honeysuckle Banks on the South Esk River (weather permitting).
We'll kick off with an informative presentation covering essential tips and techniques to elevate your night photography skills. We'll also review each participant's equipment to ensure you're fully prepared for the shoot.
Next, we'll drive a short distance to the nearby South Esk River. At Honeysuckle Banks, you'll put your newfound knowledge into practice by capturing the Milky Way, which will be prominently positioned in the sky. This provides an excellent opportunity to focus on the stars and capture stunning Milky Way images. Our south-facing location also offers the chance to photograph any Aurora activity, should it occur. In case of unfavourable weather, we have alternative plans to ensure a valuable learning experience.
This workshop caters to photographers of all skill levels looking to enhance their night photography abilities. You'll receive hands-on assistance to maximise your camera's potential and improve your technique. As an added bonus, Sony loan equipment will be available, allowing you to experiment with different lenses and cameras specifically suited for night photography.
