Hike to Wairere Falls with plenty of photo stops along the way

About the event

Join me for a hike to the stunning Waiwere Falls in the Kaimai Ranges. This adventure is perfect for anyone looking to elevate their storytelling skills in the outdoors.

The Wairere Falls Track is approximately 2.5 hours round trip and requires a reasonable level of fitness, but we'll take plenty of breaks along the way so expect to take 4 hours on this trip.

Techniques covered

  • Storytelling: How to create a narrative through taking establishing shots, detail and action shots
  • Panorama Creation: Tips for capturing images to easily stitch together in post
  • Practical Tips: Gear management and weather preparedness
  • Composition and lighting: How to best use the available lighting and scenery to create your image

What to bring

  • Camera gear in a comfy backpack
  • Water and lunch (I will bring snacks)
  • Comfortable walking shoes or boots

Get in touch if you need to borrow a camera and I'm happy to share my Sony glass during the shoot.
Please bring a solid lunch and I will bring some trail snacks.
Wear comfortable hiking clothes and bring extra layers.
There is a big car park and toilets at the trailhead. Maps should take you to the car park at the end of Goodwin Road.
Reasonable fitness required for the hike, the walk usually takes 3 hours with a long lunch break so we're planning to take 4 hours including lots of stops.
