Practical weather planning workflows and atmospheric condition reading

About the event

Join Luke Tscharke for an online workshop on reading weather and atmospheric conditions for photography. This workshop explores the tools and processes for understanding weather patterns, tides, and environmental factors that consistently help position you in the right place when conditions are optimal.

This workshop dives into weather apps and essential models that help us interpret atmospheric conditions and understand how tides and environmental factors affect shooting opportunities. You'll see practical examples and the workflows I've developed for decision-making when planning shoots.

This workshop focuses specifically on the weather and atmospheric aspects of planning, helping you develop a practical approach to reading conditions so you can make confident choices about where to go and what to expect. For comprehensive planning coverage, this pairs perfectly with my location and timing planning workshop which covers scouting locations and optimal timing elements.

What We'll Cover

The workshop walks through different weather apps and data sources, showing you how to use each one and when they're most valuable. You'll explore real scenarios from  Luke's own shoots, work through current conditions together, and learn the practical workflows that have developed over years of chasing light across Tasmania.

As part of this workshop, you'll receive a weather planning reference guide in PDF format. This  guide covers all the key tools and processes we discuss during the workshop, giving you a reference document to use when planning your own shoots.
