Start your day with a sublime sunrise session at Echo Point Lookout, Katoomba, one of the most breathtaking vantage points in the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. Under the soft glow of dawn, we’ll capture the iconic Three Sisters and the vast Jamison Valley, refining our landscape photography skills in real-time.
This hands-on session is designed for photographers of all levels, from beginners to experienced shooters looking to master the nuances of sunrise landscape photography.

📷 Mastering Sunrise Photography – Understanding light, composition, and exposure for stunning golden-hour shots.
📷 Essential Camera Settings & Techniques – Learn long exposures, bracketing, and dynamic range control.

📷 Sony Digital Imaging Equipment – Hands-on experience* with some of the latest Sony gear (subject to availability).
Beyond photography, this session offers a deeper connection to the Blue Mountains, including insights into:
🌿 The unique geology, flora, and fauna of this World Heritage-listed landscape.
🌏 The rich cultural history of the Gundungurra people, the traditional custodians of this land.
Post-Shoot Café & Photography Discussion ☕
After the shoot, we’ll head to a local café to debrief over breakfast or coffee. This is the perfect opportunity to:

🎒 What to Bring: Camera, wide-angle lens, tripod, extra batteries, memory cards, and warm clothing.
🔹 Fitness Level:
This session is generally accessible with minimal walking, though some sessions may include optional short hikes. Check the grading for each workshop:
- Grade 1 – Easy access, suitable for all.
- Grade 2 – Some walking, small formed stairs with handrails.
- Grade 3 – Short bushwalks (<5km), some inclines, stairs, and uneven terrain.
- Grade 4 – Longer walks (<10km), steeper inclines, rough terrain, and moderate fitness required.
- Grade 5 – Remote bushwalking, rugged terrain, experienced hikers only.

Jay is a licensed photography tour operator under an NSW National Parks Eco Pass License # LIC20/116 and holds Remote Area First Aid Accreditation.

We occasionally have Sony Digital Imaging gear available for hands-on use. Availability depends on Sony’s loan stock and logistics. If you're interested in testing specific equipment, let me know in advance!
