Explore one of inner Sydney’s most visually layered neighbourhoods in this guided photowalk designed for photographers wanting to strengthen their eye for street detail, architecture, urban composition and changing light.
Beginning in Camperdown, this session moves through a pocket of Sydney where historic terraces, old industrial details, textured streetscapes and creative inner-west atmosphere combine to create strong photographic opportunities across multiple genres.
Led by Sony Digital Imaging Advocate Jay Evans, the walk will focus on how to observe and photograph urban scenes with intent — from isolated architectural details and repeating patterns through to wider city storytelling, candid street moments and the use of late afternoon light.
As the afternoon progresses, we will work toward golden hour and sunset, finishing at one of Jay’s favourite inner-city green spaces — Camperdown Memorial Rest Park — where open sightlines, layered trees, sandstone details and changing sky colour create a very different photographic mood.
This event forms part of the Scene House Sydney event series, designed to help photographers explore practical shooting in real environments while building stronger creative habits.
