About the event

Want to know how to take better photographs of your dog but don't know where to start?

Join me for a spring photo walk photographing dogs amongst the beautiful and varied surroundings of  Auckland Botanic Gardens during the golden hour period prior to sunset.

I will be able to offer some tips to help you capture great images of my dog models.

Photographers of all ages and levels of experience are welcome to attend, however having a basic understanding of how to navigate your camera's menus and change settings will help you make the most of this event. It's a great opportunity to talk photography with like minded people, take some stunning photos, and meet some awesome dogs!

Instructions on where to meet will be provided to attendees approximately one week before the event.

You don't need a Sony camera to attend this event, but a selection of Sony cameras and lenses may be available to try during the afternoon. Please email me at least four weeks prior to the event if there is anything specific you would like to try.

NB: This event will be rescheduled if it is raining.

Photographing dogs involves getting down on the ground, so wear shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Bring layers in case it gets cooler in the evening. Closed toe shoes such as hiking boots or sturdy sneakers with good grip are recommended.
Parking is available at Auckland Botanic Gardens. I recommended you arrive early to ensure you can park close to the meeting place. Exact details will be emailed to attendees prior to the event.
Yes, a minimum of five people will be required for this photo walk to proceed.
Please ensure your fitness and mobility will be comfortable with walking around the Auckland Botanic Gardens (including stairs and small hills) and that you have the ability to lay down on the ground and get up and down often.
A basic understanding of how to use your interchangeable lens camera, navigate your camera's menu and change settings will help you to get the most out of this photo walk. You don't need to have a Sony camera to attend this event.
