Join me, Luke Tscharke, on an exclusive 7-day, 6-night photography workshop exploring the stunning East Coast of Tasmania. This small group workshop offers an intimate and immersive experience designed to enhance your seascape photography skills, with personalised attention due to the limited group size.

The workshop begins on the 29th of November 2024, where participants will meet at the pickup point in Hobart. From there Luke will drive the group to the Bay of Fires, a region renowned for its vibrant orange lichen-covered rocks and pristine beaches. Upon arrival, we'll check into our beautiful accommodation in Binalong Bay, which offers breathtaking ocean views. This will be our base for the next three nights.

During our stay at the Bay of Fires, you will have two full days to explore and photograph this stunning coastal region. Iconic locations such as Binalong Bay, The Gardens, and Eddystone Point Lighthouse provide endless opportunities to capture the unique beauty of Tasmania's east coast. Luke will guide you in perfecting your landscape photography techniques, ensuring you make the most of these extraordinary landscapes.

On the 2nd of December, the group will transfer from the Bay of Fires to Coles Bay, situated at the doorstep of Freycinet National Park. After checking in at our accommodation in the heart of Coles Bay, we will have the next two days to explore and photograph the park's renowned locations. Highlights include Wineglass Bay, with its perfect crescent-shaped beach, Hazards Beach, and the Cape Tourville Lighthouse. These days will be filled with opportunities to capture the rugged beauty and serene vistas that Freycinet offers. Additionally, an optional photography flight over Wineglass Bay can be coordinated, providing a unique aerial perspective of this iconic location. This optional excursion offers an extraordinary opportunity to capture stunning aerial shots, further enhancing your portfolio. Please indicate your interest upon booking so arrangements can be made.

The final leg of the journey begins on the 5th of December, as we check out from Coles Bay and drive to Triabunna. From there, we take a ferry to Maria Island for a few hours of exploration. Maria Island is famous for its abundant wildlife, including wombats, and its rich cultural history. After photographing the island's natural and historical wonders, we'll take the ferry back to Triabunna and then drive back to Hobart. The workshop concludes with your return to Hobart, where you will be able to meet any evening flights or continue your onward journey.

Throughout the workshop, participants will have private rooms with the option of a master suite with an ensuite for an additional fee. Meals are not provided, but the group will dine out at local restaurants and have opportunities to purchase food as needed. Additionally, Sony loan equipment is available upon request; please contact in advance to arrange this.

Join us for this unforgettable photographic journey along Tasmania’s breathtaking East Coast and elevate your photography skills in one of the world's most picturesque settings. Spots are limited, so book now to ensure your place!

Small Group, Big Experience

This exclusive photography workshop along Tasmania's East Coast is limited to just three participants. With such a small group, you'll receive personalised attention and guidance from throughout the entire experience. Smaller groups create a more engaging and enjoyable learning environment, allowing guests to get to know each other better and for Luke to tailor the workshop to your individual needs and goals.

To ensure your comfort and privacy, each participant will have their own queen room during the workshop. One lucky participant can also opt for the master suite with an ensuite for an additional fee. This means you'll have a personal space to relax and recharge after a day of shooting, without compromising on comfort.

The workshop is also self-catering, giving you the freedom to choose food according to your own preferences. This flexible arrangement adds to the laid-back and easy-going atmosphere of the workshop, allowing us to focus on photography and enjoying the beautiful surroundings of Tasmania's East Coast.

With a small group, we'll be able to move around more easily, fitting comfortably in one vehicle and simplifying logistics. This not only enhances the learning experience but also fosters a sense of camaraderie and friendship as we explore and photograph the Bay of Fires, Freycinet National Park, and Maria Island together.

Flexible Itinerary and Locations

One of the key advantages of this workshop is the flexible itinerary, which allows us to make the most of the prevailing weather conditions. I will use my planning tools, apps, and forecasting services to determine the best locations for each day, ensuring that we will be at the right place at the right time to capture the most stunning images possible. As part of the workshop, I will also share my planning processes with you, providing valuable insights into how to adapt and optimise your photography based on the conditions.

Potential locations along Tasmania's East Coast include the vibrant, lichen-covered rocks of Binalong Bay and the pristine beaches of The Gardens and Eddystone Point Lighthouse in the Bay of Fires. In Freycinet National Park, we'll explore iconic spots like Wineglass Bay, Hazards Beach, and the Cape Tourville Lighthouse. On our final day, we'll visit Maria Island, known for its rich cultural history, abundant wildlife, and beautiful landscapes.

By maintaining a flexible itinerary, we'll ensure that we maximise the photographic opportunities at each location, adapting our plans to the conditions and capturing the best possible images.
