Mt Eden Sunset Photo Walk

Join me for a relaxed evening photo walk at Maungawhau / Mt Eden, capturing the area as the light changes from golden hour into sunset.

We’ll explore different spots around the mountain, looking for interesting compositions, perspectives and details before making our way towards the summit to capture Auckland at sunset.

This is a free community photography event, designed to be relaxed and social. Whether you're looking to practise your photography, try something different, or simply meet other photographers, you're welcome to join.

Meeting point

Outside Ngatira Tennis Club, Clive Road, Auckland

Please park on Clive Road - do not use the tennis club car park.

Start: 4:30 pm
Sunset: 6:00 pm

Please arrive on time so we can make the most of the available light. We’ll begin the walk shortly after 4:30 pm.

• Golden-hour light
• Auckland city views
• Sunset from the summit
• Silhouettes and changing light

• No specific techniques will be covered, but I will be available to offer advice about camera settings and answer any questions that may arise

• Camera and lenses
• Spare SD cards and batteries
• Shoes suitable for walking
• Water and snacks
• Jacket and warm clothing for later in the evening
• Lightweight tripod (optional - for night photography)
