Join Jay for a photo walk around the Prince Henry Cliff walk in Katoomba

About the event

Join Jay for a morning Photo Walk across one of the gems of the Blue Mountains, the Prince Henry Cliff Walk.

Commencing with a sunrise at the three sisters, we will then walk across the cliff top 5kms all the way to our final stop at the Pool of Siloam and Lyrebird Dell, then walking back to Leura Mall and back to Katoomba via either walking or train.

This 4 hour walk will take us past some fantastic lookouts and waterfalls and we'll be stopping to photograph the scenery as we travel, with plenty of opportunity to capture wide open valley views, eucalyptus forest, rock formations, wildflowers and other flora, plus the chance to capture Lyrebirds as they dig around for food on their morning rounds. Bring your wide angle, telephoto and macro lenses, as this will be a walk offering the beautiful variety of Blue Mountains photography.

Our Route:

  • Honeymoon Bridge
  • Honeymoon Lookout
  • Burrabarroo Lookout

Meals - You will need to bring some snacks and a large water bottle as there will be no stops for breakfast, coffee or water refills enroute. At the end of the walk, we will stop off at one of Leura's cafes for brunch before closing. Also bring your Opal card for train journey's between Leura and Katoomba if required.

Fitness & Mobility Requirements - This walk, including walks back to Katoomba will cover approximately 10kms of distance. The bush walk sections will take us across some steep and uneven national park stairs and bush tracks. You should ensure you are capable and prepared to cover this distance as there are limited public transport options en route, but taxis can be called to the roads that follow the walking route if required.

Parking - Car Parking at the Three Sisters precinct is metered for a maximum of 2 hours. If you are driving to Katoomba, we recommend parking on Lurline street, Katoomba Street or Kurrawan Street outside of the metered and timed parking areas. Please allow yourself plenty of time to arrive and reach the meeting point in time for sunrise.

Accommodation - Due to the early start, we recommend you stay in one of Katoomba or Leura's many guest houses or hotels the evening before. We can also accommodate up to 3 people in one of our comfortable AirBnB style rooms at our Katoomba home. There is a $70 per person per night fee that can be paid on arrival. Contact us for details and booking.
