Sydney Night Photography Walk with Jay Evans

Discover Sydney’s Iconic Nightlife Through Photography

Join Sony Advocate Jay Evans for an unforgettable night photography walk through the heart of Sydney’s vibrant city streets. Capture stunning architecture, dazzling lights, and the energetic 24-hour life of one of the world’s most iconic cities.

In partnership with the Sony Scene Trade Show, if you’re attending on Sunday, why not extend your experience by joining this exciting Sydney night photography tour? Whether you’re an enthusiast or a professional, you’ll have the chance to elevate your photography skills in this inspiring urban setting.

What to Expect from the Night Walk

Our walk begins at Circular Quay, taking you through historical and modern Sydney, including The Rocks, Observatory Hill, and the cutting-edge architecture of Barangaroo. You’ll discover both the charm of Darling Harbour and the fresh urban vibe of Wynyard as we circle back to George Street and Circular Quay.

This isn’t just a walk—it’s a masterclass in night photography techniques, specifically designed to help you capture the city in its best light.

Sydney Architecture: The Perfect Nighttime Subject

The walk offers endless opportunities to photograph stunning architecture beautifully lit against the night sky. From Observatory Hill’s incredible views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge to the modern skyline at Barangaroo, you’ll capture both iconic landmarks and lesser-known gems.

This is the perfect time to sharpen your cityscape photography skills with a backdrop of Sydney's evolving architecture. As we explore, Jay Evans will share expert tips on:

  • Long exposure settings for dynamic light trails and night sky shots.
  • Motion capture techniques to bring movement to life in your images.
  • Creative compositions that will make your architecture and cityscape photos stand out.

You'll learn how to use light, motion, and framing to create photos that tell stories, all while experiencing Sydney in a way you’ve never seen before.

Fitness Requirements

This is a leisurely, 3-kilometer loop, with some slight inclines and stairs along the way. A basic level of fitness is recommended, but don’t worry—there’s plenty of time to stop, shoot, and enjoy the views.
