About the event
In collaboration with Stallards Camera House Hobart, jump onboard a video chat with fellow photography enthusiasts, a representative from Sony Australia and Sony Digital Imaging Advocate Luke Tscharke. This is your chance to share, discuss, and receive feedback on your images that were inspired by the Your Alpha Journey theme. This event is open to all genres of photography and is not limited to Sony Alpha users. The video chat will be limited to six guests only. Keeping it small means that everyone will get a chance to share their favourite photos with the group, talk about their journey, and open it up to constructive feedback. It may sound a bit intimidating to talk about your pictures, but please be reassured we are a friendly bunch.
At this event, you will be invited to participate in the following ways:
Show & Tell
During the session, we would love to see some of your favourite images. These images can be submitted using the following process:
- 1. SELECT two of your favourite images to discuss in the session. Please include the Raw images if you can.
- 2. RENAME these images to include your name, for example, 'LukeTscharke-1.jpg' and 'LukeTscharke-1.ARW', 'LukeTscharke-2.jpg' and 'LukeTscharke-2.ARW'.
- 3. OPEN the Dropbox image submission link in your booking confirmation email.
- 4. UPLOAD your two selected images to the Dropbox submission link at least 48 hours before the event.
This is a requirement of the workshop as everyone’s participation is essential to creating a positive and collaborative experience.
Open Discussion
Please connect to the video chat using a computer with a good internet connection or a mobile device that is propped up on table or desk (please avoid hand holding the device). If possible, pick a room that is well-lit and quiet. We highly recommend using a set of earbuds with a built-in microphone, so that we can hear everyone clearly.
Constructive Feedback
If there is a specific technique, genre, or style of photography that has been giving you grief, then please submit an image of yours that “didn’t quite hit the mark” and Luke will give you his thoughts and help you get on the right track. Rename this file to include your name and the word “feedback” for example, 'LukeTscharke-Feedback-1.jpg'. These files can be submitted to the same Dropbox submission process as the Show & Tell images.
Session Recording
In order to provide all guests with a ‘Replay Link’ to study and review afterwards, the session will be recorded and shared to all guests. If you would prefer us not to record the session, then please contact us before your session.
